Following on from the Cho On Dai edition, when Kazuo Akao decided to commission Foster + Partners to design a luxury motor yacht, he asked Watermark Publications to produce a similar private, limited edition – again of 200 copies – this time following the design and construction of the yacht from the laying down of its keel, through to the sea trials and beyond.

Built by the renowned Lürssen shipyard in Bremen, I and German photographer Georg Fischer were allowed unrestricted access to photograph the yacht during its construction and sea trials, with Ian then travelling with the yacht on its maiden voyage to Barcelona and, later, on trips through the Suez Canal and from Florida to Saint Maarten and Anguilla in the Caribbean – definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Just a handful of books remain in the publisher’s collection and these are now offered on a first come first served basis.
